Back from Beijing!
We're back, and what a trip!
As part of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Orchestra, our members spent the last two weeks enduring long, hot rehearsals, playing some humbling and high profile gigs, exploring the tourist locations, and of course enjoying all the socialising that comes with these tours. Our performances included playing on the Great Wall, and we had the honour of being in the first international performance group ever permitted at Tiananmen Square! It was great to have our other Vic hub members along, many of whom have now joined; awesome getting to know you!
A huge thanks not only has to go out to the band for showing the others how to have some true Aussie fun, but most importantly to Richard, and everyone back home involved in making this tour what it was. Can't wait for the next one!

With Beijing fast approaching (6 weeks to go!), some of our members
have made a little habit of featuring in the media of late. If you’re
at school, keep a keen eye out for us in S-press these coming weeks.
You might’ve also glimpsed some of us in the Education age a few weeks
back, or Iain recently plugging his Olympic Challenge fund-raising
event in the Leader ( click
here). Consider getting along if you’re in the
area!
Olympics aside, last Sunday saw us performing at the Eastlink
tunnel opening; another big event, but just a little closer to home.
