AYB's fundraising efforts are gearing up towards its inaugural tour of New Zealand this September; a fundraising BBQ was held at Bunnings Notting Hill on 1 July 2007.

AYB held its annual Trivia Night fundraiser on Saturday 16 June, 2007, and the night was a great success, financially and socially! Well-attended by band members, the Movies theme provided an entertaining program of questions and activities, not to mention some clever (and just plain silly) costume choices - check out the photos!

The Australian Youth Band Southern Stars Marching Band were featured on the Nine Network's 'The Footy Show' on Thursday 24th May, 2007. Sam Newman lead the band into the studio as drum major with mace and whistle and surprisingly good rhythm!

On Friday 18th May our Drumline performed with country music star Keith Urban. Keith has recently been touring Australia, and the AYB Southern Stars Drumline were invited to participate in his Melbourne concert at Rod Laver Arena.
From June 24 to July 13, AYB toured America, Mexico and Canada with the main focus of the trip being the Calgary Stampede in Canada. The tour was a tremendous success with the band performing exceptionally well at all 11 of our performances. AYB was also awarded several honours while on tour in North America.
